I have this friend who somehow always radiates positivity, effortlessly attracts good things, and seems to be living her best life. I asked her how she does it, and she told me that it’s not luck—it’s about knowing how to raise your vibration.

If you think about the fact that we are all just moving balls of energy, then it makes sense that the frequency that we are vibrating on can either attract positive people and things into our lives, or negative ones. By learning how to vibrate higher, you can call in greater abundance, joy, peace, and love. That sounds pretty nice, doesn’t it?!

It all starts with your thoughts. External conditions may never be 100% idea or controllable, so the true search for peace is within our minds. Become mindful of your thoughts and eliminate the self-defeating ones - they are vibrations that extend beyond the body.

When you are operating at a higher vibration, you will feel happier overall and more connected with the world around you. And from that place, you can call in good things with ease.

I personally tried this when I moved to my new city (Austin). I made a concerted effort to be in my highest vibration, and from that place I attracted a lovely community of like-minded friends and found a beautiful place to live. Life isn’t perfect, but things are so much better when I bring my best self to the world.

HOW TO RAISE YOUR VIBRATION: 25 SIMPLE WAYS

 

1. MEDITATE

By far one of the easiest and most impactful ways to lift your vibration is through meditation. Meditation helps quiet the mind, bringing you into a state of presence. Through regular practice, you connect with your higher self, gain clarity, and calm your energy.

Just 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference in shifting your vibration. Find a quiet space, sit comfortably, and focus on your breath or a mantra that resonates with you.

2. DO BREATHWORK

Breath is life, and breathwork (known in yoga as pranayama) is a powerful tool to control your life force energy.

Breathwork can cleanse your energy field and elevate your vibration quickly. Try alternate nostril breathing or deep belly breaths for a few minutes every morning to balance your mind and energize your body.

3. PRACTICE Yoga

Yoga connects your mind, body, and spirit. As you flow through different postures, you release stagnant energy and align your physical body with your spiritual self.

4. DANCE FREELY

Dance like no one is watching! Dancing allows you to express yourself fully and shake off stuck energy. It’s also a great way to get connected to your softer feminine side.

The way I like to practice this is by playing my favorite music, dimming the lights and lighting a candle, and letting my body move in any way it wants. I always feel happier and lighter after doing this practice.

 

5. CONSUME Uplifting & INSPIRING MEDIA

What you listen to, watch, and read directly affects your energy. For this reason, I am very mindful of the content I consume.

I used to watch crime docuseries, tune into the news daily (and get sucked into the emotional drama of politics), and listen to rap music with intense lyrics. Once I realized the impact this was having on my vibration, I made a conscious effort to avoid anything that bums me out or increases my anxiety, even if that means I am oblivious to what is going on in the world.

Instead, I now choose to listen to uplifting music and inspirational podcasts, watch comedy and feel-good movies (laughter is the best medicine), and read spiritual books that resonate with my higher self. I’ve noticed that I can instantly lift my vibration this way.

 

6. Be Mindful of Who You Spend Time With

We are deeply influenced by the people around us. If you spend all your time with people who gossip and complain, it’s bound to seep in. Spend your time with high-vibe people who uplift, inspire, make you laugh, and make you feel good about life - and if you haven’t met those people yet, you’re better off on your own.

I used to feel guilty about severing ties with people. I would maintain friendships with flaky friends and stay in touch with lousy exes.

Now I have become ruthless about cutting out toxic, negative people who drain my energy. And you know what, I’m much better off. It has freed up space in my life for high-quality relationships and boosted my self-esteem.

7. SOAK IN SOME Sunshine

Spending time in the sun boosts your mood and energy levels. Natural sunlight provides vitamin D and helps reset your circadian rhythms, making you feel more alive and radiant.

When I was at an Ayurveda retreat in India, the doctor told me to get at least 15 minutes of direct sunlight on my skin everyday. On the days when I am able to do that, I feel much happier and sleep better.

 

8. Limit Alcohol and Caffeine Consumption

Both alcohol and caffeine can disrupt your energy field, throwing you off balance. While a cup of coffee or a glass of wine might feel good in the moment, consuming them in excess can lower your vibration.

I feel so much more alive after giving up caffeine. Limiting my intake helps me stay aligned with higher frequencies.

 

9. Eat Healthy, PURE FOODS & STAY HYDRATED

What you put into your body is fuel for your energy. Eating clean nourishes your body and keeps your vibration high.

Opt for high-vibrational foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Avoid processed, sugary, or heavy foods that weigh you down. And drink plenty of water to keep your body and energy clear.

10. MAKE A HABIT OF PracticING Self-LovE & SELF-CARE

Loving yourself is one of the quickest ways to raise your vibration. Do kind things for yourself—take a bubble bath, write yourself a love letter, or treat yourself to something nice. When you prioritize self-love, your vibration naturally rises.

Pay attention to how you speak to yourself. Replace negative self-talk with affirmations and loving words. When you treat yourself kindly, the world does too.

 
 

11. Engage in a Flow State Activity

Flow state is a positive mental state experienced when you’re completely absorbed, focused, and involved in an activity. Time passes without you noticing and you’re free from distraction, boredom and self-consciousness.”

There’s no better feeling than losing yourself in a hobby or activity that you love. Whether it’s painting, writing, cooking, or something else, getting in the creative zone will help you forget about your worries.

Working on this blog does that for me. I completely lose myself and all sense of time when I’m working on it, and I feel such a tremendous feeling of accomplishment every time I publish something.

 

12. SING OR CHANT MANTRAS

Singing and chanting mantras releases trapped energy and activates higher frequencies in your body. Whether it’s a spiritual chant or your favorite song, using your voice in this way will help raise your vibration.

13. WRITE YOUR THOUGHTS & FEELINGS IN A Journal

I have been journaling for over 20 years. It’s one of the most powerful ways I’ve found to release heavy, dark emotions. When I write my feelings down onto the page, somehow I feel lighter, like I’m leaving the negative feelings on the page and freeing myself from their burden.

Write down your thoughts, dreams, and feelings in a journal to connect more deeply with yourself. Use your journal as a safe space to process your emotions, and make space for higher vibrations in your life.

 

14. Get Enough Sleep

Sleep is essential for restoring your energy. Without it, your vibration dips, leaving you feeling drained.

Prioritize 7-9 hours of quality sleep to rejuvenate your body and keep your energy levels high.

18. PRACTICE VISUALIZATION

Want to know how to raise your vibrations for manifestation? Visualization is one of the most powerful tools for as it taps into the energy of your thoughts and emotions. When you vividly imagine positive outcomes, success, or feelings of peace and joy, you begin to align your energy with those higher frequencies.

Another visualization technique I like to use when I’m feeling upset is to imagine myself in a bubble of white light which can shield me from any negative energy. I do the same when someone I care for is upset to send them positive energy.

 

19. Practice Gratitude

Gratitude is one of the most powerful practices for raising your vibration. Take time each day to acknowledge what you’re grateful for, no matter how small. This shifts your focus from lack to abundance.

I try to think of 3 things I’m grateful for everyday when I’m taking a shower, going for a walk, or driving. And I try to feel the gratitude through my whole body to really let its effect sink in.

 

20. Reframe Negative Thoughts

Through therapy, reframing has become a big part of my life. I definitely have a tendency to ruminate or swirl in doom state scenarios, so now I make a conscious effort to reframe any negative thoughts that enter my mind.

As an example, recently when someone I knew walked by without saying hi, I felt hurt and rejected. But, reframing helped me to realize that maybe they didn’t see me or were feeling anxious.

When your mind takes you to “I can’t,” think “I’m learning how.” Reframing has been an incredibly impactful way for me to maintain a positive outlook.

 

21. SERVE OTHERS

Helping someone in need, whether through random acts of kindness or volunterring, can significantly boost your vibration. You don’t need to venture far to seek out opportunities to serve. It can be as simple as offering a sincere compliment to a stranger, opening the door for someone, or letting a car change lanes in front of you.

 

22. GET Reiki DONE

Reiki is an energy healing practice that helps balance and align your chakras. By clearing out negative or stuck energy, it can help raise your vibration and restore your inner harmony.

I always feel a tingly, high-vibe feeling through my body after having it done. And when I am feeling depressed, it’s an instant mood booster.

 

23. Declutter Your Space

Your environment impacts your energy. Declutter your home or workspace to create a clean, open space for positive energy to flow. You’ll feel lighter and more focused when your space is clear.

 

24. Burn Sage or Incense

Burning sage, palo santo, or incense is a cleansing practice that removes any negative energy floating around in your space.

I make this a regular ritual to keep my home’s energy high and clear. I do it before and after guests visit my house, when I return after vacation, or anytime I am sensing low vibrations in my space.

25. PRACTICE Forgiveness

Holding onto resentment weighs you down energetically. Forgive yourself and others to release heavy, low-vibrational emotions that are holding you back. Letting go of anger or grudges will clear space for better things to come in.
